Our coin sets, whether loose, mounted or framed, usually date from 1947 to 1967, the last of the pre-decimal coinage, so a 1956 coin set or a 1966 coin set is very much the sort of thing we hold. Our greetings cards can feature a wider range of years. Beyond those, we have a great deal of stock spanning many more dates, from individual coins and banknotes to postcards, medals and jewellery, so there's usually something worth a look for most years.

The Royal Mint didn't strike every denomination every year. The farthing is the clearest example, last struck in 1956, so a set from later in the fifties can't include one. Each listing tells you exactly which coins you'll receive.

Yes, the date is on the coin, which is what makes these such a personal gift. If an item isn't dated, a postcard for example, we explain in the listing how we've dated it and how confident we are.

There's usually still something. Recent years mean decimal coins rather than pre-decimal ones, and postcards and other collectables carry dates too. As a rule, the further back the year, the more choice there is.
